The Brewer Youth Hockey Thomas E. Caldwell Hockey Tournament
The tournament is named for the late Thomas e. Caldwell, past President of Brewer Youth Hockey. As a child growing up in Houlton, Maine, Tom loved hockey. He played throughout his childhood in Houlton and into his adult life on cardiac teams in the Bangor area. As his children grew up he started coaching their teams and became very interested and involved in Brewer Youth Hockey. He passed his passion of hockey on to his 3 children and the children he coached. He loved working with the less skilled children; encouraging them and watching them develop into strong hockey players.
His vision as President of Brewer Youth Hockey was to bring youth hockey in Brewer to a higher level. He wanted the youth to stay in Brewer and skate to their highest potential. He worked hard to bring travel hockey to the City of Brewer. Funds from this tournament are dedicated to send a deserving Brewer Youth Hockey player(s) to a hockey camp or program this summer.
